“Let the source of your hopefulness never depend on this hopeless world”.

Have you ever wondered which colours actually fill this world? Have you ever asked yourself to know who their painter is?
In the beginning, God was ultimately the only present painter. He took his brush and coloured this canvas we call the Universe today. He filled it with colourful animals and trees, shining stars, a bright sun and a flawless moon and, most importantly, unique human beings from all races and all around the world. Years, centuries, maybe millennia later, these people are still changing the world, turning it into a very dark canvas. Colours of joy and optimism have been replaced by negativity and pain. What used to be a colourful heaven turned into a dark chaotic venue. Today, the world we live in is mostly dark. Some people might not believe in hell, but little do they know that all the way to hell can be hell. Where have all the colours gone?
To each and every one of you who’s reading this article, you picked it for a reason.
Our world is one huge canvas containing a multitude of small ones, known to be your lives. Portray your life as a blank canvas, faced with two choices:
The first one consists in handing your brush over to all the people around you. By doing so, you would be giving them the permission to draw your painting for you. Meanwhile, you would stand there, not intervening and accepting every addition, whether you like it or not. You stripped yourself from that power, losing any form of ownership over your most important masterpiece.
The second choice focuses on revealing the artist in you. As you pick up the brush and start mixing colors in order to create new ones, you start to generate this one-time life canvas of yours. Your experiences shape and constitute your color pattern: every time you learn something new, or just as much as change your mind, a new color is added to your pattern.
The choice is simple. However, it remains a great responsibility. Once you decide that it is your duty to work on your own canvas, you have other daily choices to make as well.
“I think freckles, stretch marks, bruises, birthmarks, tattoos and scars are the coolest things ever. You started off with almost a blank canvas. Look at you now, all this evidence that you lived.”

The colors you will find on your pattern can be separated into two categories: the bright ones and the dark ones. It is important to remember that one cannot see the bright colours, nor can one understand their true value, if there are no dark ones to enhance them.
The darker colours are here to stay. So are the bright ones the world has to offer.
Look around you.
Pick Yellow for example and watch the sun interfere by brightening your day every time you make yourself happy by putting yourself first.
Green will let the serenity of the trees cage your anxious thoughts and your everyday problems.
Blue will allow the limitless sky to inspire you, to believe in yourself, to never surrender and to always aim higher than high.
White will manifest the pure clouds to comfort you and strengthen your inner peace.
Brown will let the autumn leaves remind you that you should embrace your life changes.
Pink and Orange will let the horizon be your reminder that endings can be beautiful too.
Dears, you are the Pablo Picassos of your own lives.
Our world is cold and black, and only we can build it and give it life with all the bright colors, thoughts and experiences we have to share. Putting so much effort into this masterpiece is only going to push us forward in the journey of self-love. Fall in love with your canvas, you and only you will create it.
You are reading this article right now, and I’m telling you that it’s a sign to begin your canvas journey because after all how can we colour the big canvas if our small one is so dark-blanked?
Remember to Breathe A World.
